Boost Your Immune System With Vitamin D3 + k2
With all the talk about this year's flu season, we figured you may be interested in knowing how to boost your immune system and protect yourself from the flu... other than the typical wash your hands, avoid close contact with sick people, and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
A study from 2017 showed that supplementing with vitamin D reduces the odds of developing a respiratory infection by approximately 42% in people with low baseline levels of Vitamin D.
In 2009, the National Institute of Health warned that low levels of Vitamin D are associated with frequent colds and influenza.
Ok great, but how do you know if your Vitamin D levels are low? Not everyone will go and get blood tests to monitor their Vitamin D levels. The best way to make sure you aren't deficient in Vitamin D is to supplement daily with 5000IU.
Why 5000IU? Studies show that 5000IU will get at least 97% of the population to at least 30ng/ml of Vitamin D without causing any toxicity issues (upper limit is 10000IU).
But not only supplement with Vitamin D3 but it is important that you combine it with Vitamin K
Our formula not only has 5000 IU of Vitamin D but also 100mcg of Vitamin k2 (mk-7) as well as 210 mg of Calcium and 5mg of Bioperine for maximum absorption.
Our capsules are specifically formulated with 5000IU of Vitamin D3 and include added Coconut Oil and BioPerine to boost absorption.
Even if you don't use our D3, we recommend you use these guidelines to help you select a Vitamin D supplement: Make sure it is D3 & K2 and coupled with both a fat source (most commonly Coconut Oil or our Omega Krill Oil) and BioPerine (Black Pepper) -- since it is a fat-soluble vitamin. Go with 5000IU per day, do not exceed 10000IU per day.
